PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient cooling action with no necessity for using a particular driving power source, by mechanically connecting a cooling fan of an intercooler with a turbine shaft of a supercharger further covering their periphery with a heat shielding plate to form a cooling air passage. CONSTITUTION:When an engine is in operation, as a compressor 4c begins to rotate with a turbine 4d of a supercharger 4 by thermal energy of exhaust, a cooling fan 11 also rotates together. And if the compressor 4c, when the engine is driven in an intermediate and a high load supercharge range, rotates in a high speed pressurizing intake air, the cooling fan 11, rotating at a speed set by a slip joint 13, inducts the outside air via an intercooler 10. As a result, the pressurized air at a temperature increased is sufficiently cooled by the intercooler 10. While cooling air, inducted by the cooling fan 11, is allowed to flow via a cooling air passage 15, formed by a heat shielding plate 14, cooling the supercharger 4 and the heat shielding plate 14 in the passage 15. |
