A separable fastener is provided which consists of an insertion part (10), having a gripping region (14) and a T-shaped head (16), and of a receiving part (12) in the form of an elongated body (26) with a rear part (28) and a front part (30) which is bent relative to the latter. Provided in the body near to the bent part is an aperture (32), the length of which is such that one of the arms of the T-shaped head (16) of the insertion part (10) can be inserted through it. The bent front part of the receiving part ends in an edge (34) which impedes the complete insertion of the T-shaped head (16) through the aperture (32) in all alignments apart from one very particular alignment of the insertion part (10) relative to the receiving part (12). Provided in the edge is a recess (36) which can receive the T-shaped head if the insertion part is in the said particular alignment so that the obstruction is avoided and the T-shaped head can be allowed to be inserted completely through the aperture. The aperture also has a part which is wide enough to allow pivoting of the gripping region of the insertion part after the T-shaped head has been pushed through the aperture. The T-shaped head of the insertion part is preferably curved in section in a plane perpendicular to the main extent of the gripping region, which reduces the probability of both arms ...
