A description is given of a drive mechanism for converting a rotary motion into an oscillating motion with a shaft 1 which is coupled to a motor and, at its end opposite the motor, is in operative connection with a disc 1a rotatably mounted in a yoke 2, with a connecting rod 9, the lower head 10 of which is rotatably connected to a tappet 11 which is guided and executes stroke movements, and the upper head 8 of which is connected rotatably and eccentrically to the disc 1a, that end of the shaft 1 which is opposite the motor being connected rigidly and concentrically to the disc 1a and the upper head 8 of the connecting rod being connected concentrically to a plug 3, the plug 3 being mounted eccentrically in the front face of the disc 1a. Simple adjustment of the stroke length can be achieved by pivoting the yoke 2 and by virtue of the fact that the pivoting axis 14 passes through the axis of rotation of the upper head 8 of the connecting rod when the latter is at its lowest point during the rotation of the shaft 1. <IMAGE>
