The rotary mower has a supporting bar and a sliding runner with a plurality of mowing discs, mowing-material separating drums being arranged on the two outer mowing discs, and there being provided at least one frustoconical swath-forming drum which is fastened rotatably to the cutter bar and has an annular collar and which is arranged, as seen in the direction of travel of the machine, behind and above the mowing disc adjacent to the outermost mowing disc, in such a way that the annular collar overlaps the mowing disc to approximately the level of its hub, the annular collar forming with the top side of the mowing disc an acute angle opening in the flow-off direction of the mowing material. <IMAGE>
