A sales stand, preferably made of metal wire, is fitted together from demountable column parts 13 of short length. Said column parts can be screwed together, for example, and are fitted with a foot so that a stable column is produced. The sales baskets are connected rigidly to the column parts which also serve as spacers. For this purpose, each sales basket is provided in its centre with a reinforcement in such a way that a quite rigid connection is thus provided with the column parts. The advantage is produced during transportation since the column, the sales baskets and the foot can be packaged in a single case which corresponds to the circumference of the largest basket dimension, but is no higher than, for example, the foot or the height of the partition grids if the latter are used. Even without a packaging case, the space required, for example in a passenger car for numerous sales stands, of which the baskets can nest in one another, is thus very small and extremely favourable compared to the known stands. The stability can be increased greatly since the division of a column can take place both in the longitudinal and in the transverse direction. <IMAGE>
