The invention relates to a control valve, in particular for the pressure of a medium in a shut-off valve of a valve arrangement for automatic rapid shutting off of pressure lines. The control valve has a spindle (4) and a valve plate (8; 10) which is connected to the spindle (4) and can be brought to rest on a valve seat (12; 14). It is envisaged that the spindle (4) should project with both ends out of the pressure-tight lead-throughs (5, 6) of the control valve. Connected to the spindle (4), parallel to the valve plate (8; 10), at a fixed distance, is another valve plate (7; 9) of approximately equal size which can be brought to rest on yet another valve seat (11; 13). It is furthermore envisaged that one of the two valve plates (7; 10) should interact movably with a valve seat (11; 14). An inlet pipe (1) or outlet pipe on the control valve is connected to a space (15) between the two valve seats (11, 12; 13, 14). An outlet pipe (2) or inlet pipe is connected to a space (16) with two branches to the outside of the two valve seats (11, 12; 13, 14). <IMAGE>
