An air-bubbling bath mat which comprises a perforated top sheet (1a) which may have been provided with relief-like distribution channels by vacuum deep-drawing, and an unperforated bottom sheet (1b), which are both made of a soft plastic and are welded to one another at the edges and at reasonable inner points, has a separating intermediate layer (3) between the top and bottom sheets (1a, b), which layer is preferably laid in the longitudinal distribution channels (2a) at least in the region of bends. The separating intermediate layer (3) prevents the top and bottom sheets (1a,b) from adhering to one another over large surfaces, for example due to heat or pressure, and from impairing the circulation of compressed air (4) in the inner space of the mat (2). It can be designed, for example, as a round material (3a), as a small tube (3c) or as a braid (3b) extending over the entire mat surface and welded to the top and bottom sheets (1a,b). The separating intermediate layer accordingly always keeps a circulation channel free for the compressed air (4) and ensures uniform bubbling over the entire region of the mat. <IMAGE>
