PURPOSE:To improve an iron loss characteristic without decreasing magnetic flux density in a process for production of a grain-oriented steel sheet by sticking elements of Groups IVb, Vb, VIb of periodic table such as Sn, Bi and Se or the compd. contg. said elements to the surface of the steel sheet and subjecting the steel sheet to decarburization annealing. CONSTITUTION:The grain-oriented silicon steel sheet is produced by a series of processes in which the hot rolled sheet for silicon steel contg. >=1 kinds among S, Se and Te as an agent for suppressing growth of primary recrystallized grains is subjected to >=1 passes of cold rolling, then to decarburization annealing followed by final finish annealing. The elements of Groups IVb, Vb, VIb in the periodic table, for example, Sn, Bi, Se, etc. and >=1 kinds of materials contg. said elements are stuck uniformly to the surface of the steel sheet prior to the decarburization annealing after final cold rolling. |
