PURPOSE:To prevent an engine from causing a blow up or the like, by driving an opening adjusting mechanism to be controlled so that a difference between the throttle valve closing position and the final target throttle opening is set to within a fixed range when an air conditioner is turned on with the engine in a completely warmed condition. CONSTITUTION:An engine provides a setting means 35 inputting an output signal of an air conditioner switch 32 and selecting an estimated optimum closing position of a throttle valve 2 to be determined as a basic target throttle opening. While the engine provides a determining means 37 correcting the basic target throttle opening and determining the final target throttle opening on the basis of a study value of a study means 36 studying an actual optimum closing position of the valve 2 when an air conditioner is turned on with the engine in completely warmed condition. And when the air conditioner is changed to be turned on in the completely warmed condition, a throttle opening control means 38, controlling an opening adjusting mechanism 5, transfers the closing position of the valve 2 to a position that a difference between the closing position of the valve 2 and the final target throttle opening is set to within a fixed range.
