<p>New water-soluble, fibre-reactive compounds correspond to formula (I) in which the symbols are as defined in Claim 1, provided that a compound of formula (I) contains at least one of the following groups: (a) hydroxy groups, (b) ether groupings, (c) carbonyl groups, (d) carboxy groups, which group(s) is (are) in the compounds of formula (II) and/or in R. These compounds are prepared in conventional manner by condensation of a compound Qa-Hal with an appropriate starting compound containing a primary or secondary amine group. The compounds of formula (I) are suitable as fibre-reactive dyes for dyeing or printing hydroxy group or nitrogen containing organic substrates, especially cotton. The preferred dyeing temperature is in the cold-dyeing range. The dyeings and prints obtained have good general fastness properties and are stable to any oxidative influences.</p> |
