The screw connection between a boring tool and its adaptor, the tool and adaptor each having a thread, is distinguished by the fact that the two threads (3A, 3B) of adaptor (1) and tool (2) are connected by a threaded stem (3) with two different threads (G1, G2) offset from one another and each corresponding to adaptor and tool, and that the adaptor and tool each have a recess (N1, N2) for accommodating a common driver piece and have a driver piece (5) allocated to the recess (N1, N2). On the one hand, the cutting forces consequently no longer act on the screw fitting when working with the boring bar and, on the other hand, the necessary applied pressure between adaptor and tool can be produced. The connection can be easily released after engagement in practical work. <IMAGE>
