PURPOSE:To simplify the control of the access to cells to improve the use efficiency of a memory by storing data and a tag divisionally in the memory and making it possible that a CPU accesses the data part and the tag part of the cell simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:The address which is used when the CPU accesses the cell consisting of a tag storage part 10 and a data storage part 11 is held in an address register 1 and is transmitted to a memory device through a multiplexer 7. In this case, lower two bits of the address are stored in an MPX control part 3, and the other bits are stored in a word selecting part 2, and contents of a constant storage part 4 are added to stored contents of this part 2 by an adding circuit 5 to generate the address of the tag. This generated address is sent to the memory device, and the tag read out of the memory device is sent to a multiplexer/selecting circuit 9 through a multiplexer/selecting circuit 8 and is stored in the storage part 10, and data is stored in the storage part 11. Thus, the control of the access to cells is simplified, and the use efficiency of the memory is improved.
