摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the difference between the concentrations of ions in the positive electrolyte and the negative electrolyte during charging by using a porous membrane to separate the electrolyte container into a chamber into which the electrolyte flows and a chamber from which the electrolyte is supplied and installing a complex supply pipe between a complex storage section located in the lower part of the chamber into which the electrolyte flows and a flow path for the positive electrolyte which extends from the chamber from which the electrolyte solution is supplied. CONSTITUTION:The positive-side and the negative-side reaction containers 10a and 10b of a zinc-bromine battery are separated from each other by means of a separator film 20 for preventing self discharge. A positive electrolyte 16a and a negative electrolyte 16b containing a bromine complexing agent and supplied from a electrolyte container 50 are circulated by means of pumps 30 and 42. The container 50 is separated into a chamber 54 into which the electrolyte flows and a chamber 56 from which the electrolyte is upplied by the use of a porous film 52d which has many minute holes and which transmits the electrolyte and does not transmit a bromine complex compound. Besides, a complex supply pipe 36 is installed between a complex storage section 32 located in the lower part of the chamber 54 and a flow path 62 for the positive electrolyte 16a which extends from the chamber 56. Accordingly, the difference between the concentrations of ions in the positive electrolyte 16a and the negative electrolyte 16b during charging is reduced and the charging electric energy of the battery is increased.
