PURPOSE:To reproduce a picture with a high quality and in a high definition by making variable the mixing rate of a mixing means by the output of an edge detecting means and constituting the edge detecting means with the primary differential device, concerning the picture processing device of a copying machine, a facsimile equipment, etc. CONSTITUTION:In a mixing part 305, at the circuit part to mix an input picture and the output of a smoothing processing 3 by the suitable rate, S3 and S4 are outputted in accordance with the output of a differential value detecting part 1 inputted in a control signal generating part 2. As mentioned later, the S3 and S4 are complementary control signals and not always limited. The S3 and S4 can freely select and set the characteristic by a control signal S5. In a multiplier 8, the input picture executes the multiplying determined by the S4, in a multiplier 4, a smoothing processing part output executes the multiplying determined by the S3, the output of the multipliers 4 and 8 is mutually added by an adder 9, and this goes to be a picture processing output. |
