PURPOSE:To contrive IC miniaturization by reducing the occupation area of fuses by a method wherein fuse elements A and B are so arranged that the A covers the B in the titled device subjected to circuit programming by the fusion of said elements. CONSTITUTION:The fusion of the fuse A of a circuit block a10 sets a node N1 in high-potential floatation and causes a low-potential level to be outputted to a node N2, resulting in the activation of a circuit block b11. The output of the circuit block b11 is one of the activation signals of a circuit block b13 that drives redundant word lines. All of circuit blocks Ck use the same circuitry as that of the circuit block (a). It is not until the activation of the circuit block (b) due to the fusion of the fuse A that the programming condition with the Bk has significance; that is, the time for fusion of the fuse Bk is always after the fusion of the fuse A. Then, the fuse Bk is arranged under the fuse A, and the area of fuse occupation on an IC layout is largely reduced, thus contriving to miniaturize the IC. |
