PURPOSE:To facilitate an easy speed changing operation by securing a 2-step tapping structure for a main clutch. CONSTITUTION:A main clutch pedal 8 can be operated at the 1-step tapping position Y and the 2-step tapping position Z viewed from a restoring position X. When the pedal 8 is tapped up to the position Y, a rear part of a tension arm 13 is pushed up by a coupling member 16 at the side where a tension pulley 12 is moved down. When the pedal 8 is tapped up to the position Z, a rod 15 pushes the lower end of the inside edge of a slit 16a of the member 16 at the inactive side. Thus two tension arms 13 and 13 are set at the same level through their tip parts. At the same time, a lock member 21 is oscillated around a shaft 17 by the function of a toggle spring 24 and moves under the arm 13 of the operating side. When the pedal 8 is restored up to the position X, the member 21 holds the arm 13 set at the operating side in the middle of the course of the movement of the pedal 8 to the position X. Then the side of a spring member 18 is pressed to oscillate the member 21 over a dead point.
