<p>Process comprises prodn. of a pH=0.2-2.5 aq. formaldehyde soln., addn. of 0.3 equimolar of an amine cpd. contg. urea capable of forming a T+ to V+ viscosity hardener. The reaction mixt. is neutralised to pH=7.2-7.5, and amine cpd. is added to give an equimolar relation. - The resin is cured at 135-193 deg.C in the presence of a branching agent of formula -N-CH2-O-R (I) contg. two functional gps. per molecule, R being C1-24 alkyl hydroxyalkyl.</p> |
