PURPOSE:To perform a correct positioning of an IC card by holding a contact member engaging with and disengaging from a contact of the IC card and providing a member pressing an end part and an upper side of the card in the holding member moving together with the card. CONSTITUTION:When a card C is inserted into an inserting opening 11, an end section is held between an upper surface 22 of a head holding body 20 and a card pressing plate 24. When the head holding body 20 is pushed in, a contact head 30 together with this movement, begins to rise along an inclined surface 16 and the card C is pushed in near to a predetermined position, a head pin 31 on the contact head 30 falls and contacts with a suitable contact pressure a contact of a rear surface of the card C having an upper surface positioned by the card pressing plate 24.
