PURPOSE:To improve diagnostic efficiency by assigning the reduced picture data of the 1st means to a picture data based upon the display command from the 1st console by means of an interruption command from the 1st console in order to generate a new picture data and providing the 2nd means which gives the newly generated picture to the 1st display system. CONSTITUTION:A sectional picture is displayed on the 1st monitor 7A, and a scanned image is displayed on the 2nd monitor 7B. The 1st console 3A is operated, and the sectional image as well as the scanned image displayed on the 2nd monitor 7B are displayed on the 1st monitor 7A. Each picture displayed on the 1st and 2nd monitors can be displayed on one monitor (the 1st monitor 7A), and an operator can observe the 2st and 2nd monitors on the same table in the same field of view. When a hard copy output of a displayed image is to be obtained, the sectional image on the 1st monitor 7A and its positional information, namely, the scanned image, can be outputted on the same paper. Thus, when a subject to be tested is to be diagnosed by the hard copy output after photographing, the sectional image and its positional information, namely, the scanned image, can be compared in the same way as they were at the time of photographing, thereby improving the diagnostic efficiency, namely, facilitating picture analysis.
