PURPOSE:To reduce the size and to start stably a power convertor by omitting a preload circuit, and using the existing safety resistor at inverter starting time. CONSTITUTION:Fuel 2 is supplied to the fuel pole of a fuel battery stack 1, and air 3 is supplied to an air pole, and a DC output is obtained by electrochemi cal reaction. A safety resistor 5 and a switch 6 are provided at the output side 4, and connected with an inverter 10 through a DC breaker 9. The DC output is converted by the inverter 10 into an AC, and supplied through an output transformer 11 and an AC breaker 12 to an external AC system 13. In this case, a preload and a preload circuit made of its breaker are omitted to start the inverter 10. This start is initially executed in the state that the breakers 9, 12 are opened, and when the battery output voltage exceeds the prescribed voltage value V1, the resistor 5 is terminated. When the voltage is further raised to arrive at the operating voltage VIN of the inverter 10, the breaker 9 is closed simultaneously to switch to the inverter 10. |
