The orthopaedic gauntlet is for post-operative treatment of Dupuytren's Contraction and maintains the finger extended while allowing active movement towards the palm of the hand. It is of elastic material onto which two hook pile fastener strips are sewn at the wrist and at the level of the metacarpophalangian joint. - A levame strip constraining belt fits over these strips and slides in a leather sheath also with a hook pile fastener. A fixing strap sewn to the cubital face of the gauntlet at wrist level, secures it round the latter.
