The superimposed webs of a continuous duplicating set are held together by means of tabs which being punched out of the individual webs, are bent away from the web plane. One or more of the webs 10-12 are provided with tongues 4 widening from the base forwardly (Fig. 2) the remaining webs 8, 9 are provided with openings corresponding to the width of the base of the tongues. The joints are produced by various methods which are based particularly on the principle that the webs are divided into two groups. Each group is guided separately and after the completion of the punching operations the tongues and the openings belonging to the same joint are returned to superimposed positions and together pass through a tool by which the tongues are pressed through the openings. |
