PURPOSE:To improve the system processing capacity by shortening the holding time of a CPU with the so-called cons processing of an LISP processing system which executes the processing system of an LISP language. CONSTITUTION:A list processor 4 is connected to a CPU1 and an MSC2. The CPU1 gives a direct request to the MSC2 for a general access to a main memory 3. While a request is given to the processor 4 for the cons processing for execution of a desired main memory access. The CPU1 sets previously the final address and the head address of a cons area to a final address register 10 and an end address register 11 respectively of the processor 4. Then the CPU1 turns on a signal line 12 with the cons processing and requests the processing to a control circuit 15 of the processor 4. While the (car) data and the (cdr) data are transferred to data registers 13 and 14 respectively.
