PURPOSE:To decrease the breakdown time of a trouble recording function through the rational application of memories, by using a high-speed volatile memory for replacement of the sampling data obtained in an operation mode of a controller and then using a nonvolatile memory for transfer of data when a trouble occurs. CONSTITUTION:In a normal mode, the state quantity is sampled by a processor 3 and stored in a volatile memory 1 having a high-speed operation with no limit of writing times. When a trouble occurs, the sampling is carried out in a prescribed number of times. Then the data are transferred to a nonvolatile memory (bubble memory, EPROM, etc.) 2 having a lower-speed operation than the memory 1. The normal operation mode is reset after the trouble is recovered. The data transferred to the memory 2 are not broken until the transfer of data is carried out due to the generation of a new trouble after the sampling is started again. Thus the data of the memory 2 can be used as the record, and the substantial breakdown time of a trouble recording function caused in a trouble mode is equal to the data transfer time needed between both memories 1 and 2.
