PURPOSE:To make it possible to confirm or take out display content, by using a substance brought to a first state by polymerizing a monomolecular film of a diacetylene derivative as a display medium and utilizing the change of said display mediumin in the low temp. region thereof and the high temp. region thereof. CONSTITUTION:To a display medium brought to a first state by polymerizing a monomolecular film of a diacetylene derivative, heat energy for changing the display medium to a second state in a range wherein reversible change can be kept between the first and the second state or heat energy changing the display medium under a condition exceeding the aforementioned range is selectively applied. When the above mentioned change from the first state to the second state is performed at temp. in the range wherein reversible change is kept between both states, display is utilized as soft copy. The display due to the change from the first state to the second state performed under the condition exceeding the above mentioned range is utilized as hard copy. |
