PURPOSE:To readily manufacture an insulating member for insulating a commutator segment and to shorten the axial length of a commutator by providing a surface of a commutator segment to be contacted with a brush obliquely with respect to a rotational shaft, thereby forming the member in a simple shape. CONSTITUTION:A commutator body 11 having a cylindrical outer surface 11a and a circular inner surface 11c perpendicular to the surface 11a is mounted on a rotational shaft 1. A commutator segment 13 having a brush sliding surface 13a inclined with respect to the shaft 1 is mounted through a side insulator 14 and a body insulator 16 on the body 11. A clamping ring 12 is mounted through a side insulator 15 from the axial end to secure the segment 13. |
