PURPOSE:To enable a carriage to be easily fixed and released, by a construction wherein a slider provided at a lower part of a carriage is provided with a contact part and is engaged to a lower casing, in a typewriter in which a stator of a linear pulse motor is fixed to left and right side plates of a frame of a printer part. CONSTITUTION:A carriage stopper 12 has a projected part 12a engaged to a recessed part 14a provided in the lower casing 14, and the carriage 11 can be freely moved on the stator 8. When fixing the carriage 11, a pawl 12b provided on the stopper 12 is moved in the direction of an arrow, whereby the carriage 11 is fixed by the projection 12b. In addition, since the stopper 12 has the projected part 12a engaged with the recessed part 14b of the casing 14, the stopper 12 will not be moved unless a strong force is exerted thereon. The fixing of the carriage 11 can be released by the reverse operation. |
