CONTINUOUS CASTING DEVICE FOR THIN INGOT

PURPOSE:To assure the uniform thickness of water films over the entire part of cooling bodies and to prevent the bulging and thermal deformation of an ingot by attaching projections or roller shoes to the side of the surface in contact with metallic belts as a cooling device. CONSTITUTION:The cooling device to be positioned behind each metallic belt is attached with the projections 14 or roller shoes 15 to form a spacing 8 on the side of the surface in contact with the belt. The projections 14 of which the height is equal to the prescribed thickness 8 of the water film are fixed to the surface of such cooling device to assure the thickness 8 of the water film over the entire surface of a pad. The roller shoes 15 are otherwise attached thereto to assure the water film thickness 8 over the entire surface of the pad. Grooves 16 cut to the shoes 15 are designed to permit the smooth water dis charge and belt cooling in the roller part.
