PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform multicolor printing, by applying at least two different color inks to the printing surface, thereof which was divided into plural printing surfaces by the grooves provided to the outer peripheral surface of the platen. CONSTITUTION:Three ring shaped grooves 63 are formed to the outer peripheral surface of a platen 52 to divide the same into four cylindrical surfaces spaced apart in the axial direction at equal distances and said cylindrical surfaces function as printing surfaces 64 for performing printing in connection with printing heads 22. Four ink roll cassettes 70 are provided corresponding to the above mentioned printing surfaces 64. Ink rolls 72 respectively impregnated with different color ink are received in the ink roller cassettes 70 and different color inks are respectively applied to the above mentioned four printing surface 64 to perform multicolor printing. |
