PURPOSE:To obtain an appropriate printing pressure, by a method wherein printing pressure information for each type supported on a type wheel is read by a reading means, is stored into a storage means, and a printing pressure of the type wheel is controlled according to the printing pressure information in a printing operation. CONSTITUTION:When a power source SW27 is closed, a main CPU12 detects the closure, sets a printing pressure detector 6 into an ENABLE condition through a wheel CPU14, and rotate the wheel 1 by a motor 7 through a controlling means 17. Next, the detector 6 scans a printing pressure information storage area, the printing pressure information thus detected is led into the CPU14 through a converting means 24, and is stored into a RAM25 in the CPU12. Then, based on the printing pressure information, the CPU14 refers to a previously stored table 18, and determines a hammer-driving time (f) according to the printing pressure data (e). The wheel CPU14 outputs a driving signal to an impact means 8 for the driving time, whereby a hammer 8a performs printing with an optimal pressure. Accordingly, operability is enhanced, and general-purpose properties can be enhanced. |
