This invention is a chuck for work machines or the like. The chuck permits eccentric clamping of a component in a predetermined position relative to the chuck. The component is clamped with the help of jaws (24) with even angular division that are controllably situated in the chuck. The invention is unique in that the jaws (24) are rotatably mounted in radial planes in the chuck (1) and each jaw (24) can be individually actuated by a piston/cylinder unit (7, 9) that is designed in such a way that upon activation and with self-braking force provide the jaw (24) a rotating movement to grasp and fasten a pre-positioned component (35) in the chuck (1). In that each jaw can be individually actuated by a piston/cylinder unit, the jaws can be fastened against a completely unmachined surface of the work piece and obtain equal tensional forces for each jaw.<IMAGE> |
