PURPOSE:To obtain an economical and mass-producible liquid crystal display element by constituting a spacer of an ultraviolet setting type bonding agent and containing an ultraviolet setting type bonding agent as a main component and small quantity of a conductive substance in a conductive member. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal display element consists of the 1st and 2nd substrates 1, 2, liquid crystal 7 sealed between the substrates 1, 2, spacers for sealing the liquid crystal 7 between the substrates 1, 2, and a conductive member inserted between the substrates 1, 2 to connect these substrates electrically. The spacer is constituted of the ultraviolet setting type bonding agent 3 and glass fiber 4 mixed into the bonding agent 3. The conductive member contains the ultraviolet setting type bonding agent 5 and the conductive substance 6. Said constitution makes it possible or the conductive member to connect the electrode on the 1st substrate with that of the 2nd substrate efficiently.
