PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode-ray tube having reinforced structure preferable for saving of space by making a notch in the center of a portion of fixing metal facing against the four corners of casing. CONSTITUTION:The central portion of the fixing section of a fixing metal 24 facing againsg the four corner sections of fastening band 13 to the casing of a cathode-ray tube 11 is notched to provide two fixing sections 30a, 30b with such relation as R2>R1, where R1, R2 are the diameters at the corner section of the fastening band 13 and the notched section 31, respectively. When contacting the notched section 31 and the factening band 13, the length L2 at the engaging section 24a of the fixing metal 24 is a+b+c irrespectively of the thickness. Contact of R1 and R2 will cause damage of the casing 11 through burr at the notched section 31 or incorrect securing to the fastening band 13 due to fluectuation of product, thereby slight gap (s) is required resulting in L2=s+a+b+c.
