PURPOSE:To prevent the stain of an image, especially the white ground on a dye fixing element by incorporating a specified sensitizing dye into a photosensitive material contg. a compound which reacts with photosensitive silver halide by heating and produces or releases a movable dye when the photosensitive material is exposed and the resulting movable dye is transferred to the dye fixing element. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material having photosensitive silver halide, a sensitizing dye represented by formula I and/or a sensitizing dye represented by formula II and a compound which produces or releases a movable dye on a support is imagewise exposed, and the resulting movable dye is transferred to a dye fixing element in the presence of a hydrophilic solvent. When the photosensitive silver halide is reduced to silver by heating, the compound produces or releases the movable dye in proportion or inverse proportion to the reaction. The sensitizing dye is added to a photographic silver halide emulsion by direct dispersion in the emulsion or dissolution in a solvent such as water or methanol or a mixed solvent before addition to the emulsion. The photosensitive element and the dye fixing element are preferably formed on separate supports by coating.
