PURPOSE:To obtain a color picture tube having a shadow mask structure not subjected to plastic deformation by employing such profile of shadow mask and the inner shape of frame as satisfying specific relation. CONSTITUTION:The outer shapes OS1, OS2 of shadow mask and the inner shapes IF1, IF2 of frame are constructed to satisfy the relations 0<=OS1-IF1<2mm, 0<=OS2-IF2<=2mm at least at the welding section. Consequently, even upon exposure to local thermal expansion under operation of color picture tube, or subjected to high temperature condition during manufacture, it will never cause plastic deformation.
