PURPOSE:To improve comfortability of an air conditioner, by providing a partition plate for preparing independent air ducts respectively to a lower motor, whose capacity is fixed, and a top and bottom fans. CONSTITUTION:The titled air conditioner possesses an upper motor 7, which makes fans 5, 6 operate independently respectively and possesses variable capacity, and a lower motor 8 whose capacity is fixed and a partition plate 10 preparing respectively air ducts together with the fans 5, 6 is provided. A discharger air quantity through an upper blow-off opening 2 is controlled by changing capacity of an upper motor 7 and temperature distribution of the inside of a chamber can be kept at a comfortable state, by a method wherein an air quantity to be discharged through a lower blow-off opening 3 when operation is performed is blown off at a constant value through which it is not uncomfortable even if the air is abutted against the human body and the temperature distribution does not become whose, and a discharge air quantity changeover switch 11 at the upper blow-off opening is changed over to strong, medium and weak according to circumstances. In addition to the above, as the partition is provided between the upper fan 5 and lower fan 6, it does not happen that the upper and lower air quantities interfere with each other.
