PURPOSE:To improve the yield and to reduce the cost by forming a read/write core of a laminate core obtained by laminating metallic magnetic thin plates and forming an erasing core of a core obtained by bending a metallic magnetic plate. CONSTITUTION:Lower parts of C-shaped laminate cores 1a and 1b obtained by laminating magnetic metallic thin plates are joined together, upper parts face each other across a read/write gap 1c, and a read/write coil 1d is inserted into the joint part of the laminate cores 1a and 1b to constitute a read/write head 1. Erasing cores 2a and 2b formed by bending a magnetic metallic plate almost in a U shape are arranged on flanks of the read/write core 1a across specific erasing gaps 2c and 2d. The erasing cores 2a and 2b are in the same or symmetric shaped, and upper facing parts which form the erasing gaps 2c and 2d are bent at right angles and the lower parts are superposed one over the other; and an erasing coil 2e is fitted in this superposition part.
