PURPOSE:To elongate the life of a heater by igniting the heater after the wick of heater has arrived at the most elevated position. CONSTITUTION:When a rotary operating knob 2 is turned to elevate the wick 27, a pinion 3, attached to a wick elevating and descending shaft 1, finishes to mesh with the wick elevating and descending rack teeth 33 of a rack 32 and meshes with a rotary teeth 34 continuous to the rack teeth 33, then, the wick 27 arrives at the most elevated position and the elevation of the wick 27 is stopped. Thereafter, the operating unit 61 of an ignition operating member 60 starts to operate the ignition device when the pinion 3 has been meshed with the rotary teeth 34 and the ignition heater of the ignition device is approached to the wick 27 in accordance with the rotation of the pinion 3 to ignite the wick 27. According to this method, the approach of the wick 27 of the ignition heater will never be too early compared with the elevation of the wick 27, therefore, the filament of the heater will never be damaged and the life of the heater may be elongated. |
