In a process for gasifying carbonaceous particles in a gasification zone operated as a fluidised bed, by means of a gasifying agent with indirect heating by a heat exchanger immersed in the fluidised bed and bearing a flow of circulated heat transfer fluid, the carbonaceous particles are partially gasified; from there, they are transferred into a combustion zone located downstream of the gasification zone and operated as a fluidised bed, and burned, for example with air; the heat transfer medium cooled in the gasification zone is fed to a heat exchanger in the combustion zone, re-absorbs the heat of combustion released therein and is returned to the heat exchanger of the gasification zone; in this system, the heat transfer fluid flows through a further heat exchanger of an additional energy source, and predetermined quantities of carbonaceous particles and reaction gas are fed to each of the gasification and combustion zones in order to take account of and balance a varying availability of thermal energy for the gasification and/or varying demand for product gas.
|
