The present invention relates to a drive manipulator for a machine. This manipulator is characterised in that the drive member 18 comprises a reflector 14 receiving a radiation emitted by light sources, such as photoemissive diodes 15, with constant flow and reflecting it to photoelectric receivers, such as phototransistors 16, which receive variable reflected flows, the photoelectric receivers 16 delivering variable signals proportionally to the flow of radiation received, as a function of the angle of inclination of the reflector 14, and thus of that of the handle 10, these signals being transmitted to the drive electronics for control of the movement motors of the machine. The handle 10 also comprises a segment made of elastically deformable material in order to damp a shock transverse to its axis. <IMAGE>
