PURPOSE:To improve quality of machining and save energy by forming a general purpose lathe with multiple beds for automated longitudinal feed and crossfeed, in such a manner as a main shaft is stopped upon detecting completion of longitudinal feed and a crossfeed shaft is rotated so as to detach a blade upon detecting stoppage of the main shaft. CONSTITUTION:Longitudinal feed distance of an apron 1 is determined correspondingly to a turning quantity and a longitudinal feed stopper 4 is set, than the position of a tool rest 13 is set to a set cutting size by means of a crossfeed handle 2. Then, turning is started through operating a change-over lever 3 for automated longitudinal feed and crossfeed. Subsequently, when the apron 1 strikes against the stopper 4 and processing is finished, said change-over lever 3 returns automatically and a dog 6 is separated from a switch 5 to cut off the switch. Then, a solenoid 12 is operated for a predetermined time to cause blow-off 9a of air and a fan 8 is put in rotation. Then the crossfeed handle 2 is put in rotation and the tool rest 13 is separated from an object of cutting. By this structure, improvement of quality of machining can be attained. |
