Cobalt soaps in fluid and stable solutions comprising: a. 6 % by weight of dissolved cobalt, in the form of a soap in the stoichiometric proportion of 1 mol of cobalt per 2 mol of acid, this cobalt soap being derived from C8, C9, C10 fatty oxo acids. b. A hydrocarbon solvent. c. 0.5 to 2 % by weight of an additive belonging to the series of organic acids of general formula CHnX3-n-COOH in which n is an integer which is even or of between 0 and 3 and X a halogen atom chosen from chlorine, bromine and iodine. The cobalt soaps according to the invention remain fluid and stable during storage.
