NEW MATERIAL:Dibenzo[b,e]oxepine derivative of formula I [R<1> is H or alkyl; R<2> is H or alkyl; when R<2> is H, R<3> is SNHR<4> (R<4> is H or alkyl), and when R<2> is alkyl, R<3> is SNR<5>R<6> (R<5> and R<6> are alkyl) or 4-alkylpiperazino] or its acid addition salt or metal salt. EXAMPLE:11-(2-Aminoethyl)thio-6,11-dihydrobenzo[b,e]oxepine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester. USE:Antiallergic agent and antiasthmatic agent. PREPARATION:The compound of formula Ia which is a compound of formula I can be prepared e.g. by reacting the compound of formula II (R<8> is alkyl; when R<2> is H, R<7> is SNH2, and when R<2> is alkyl, R<7> is SNR<5>R<6>, etc.) with thionyl chloride to effect the chlorination, and reacting the reaction product with the compound of formula III.
