PURPOSE:To obtain synthetic leather, in a process to extrude a specific resin blend and to make it into a film, by drawing the film in the longitudinal and lateral directions at a temperature of about the softening temperature of the resin right after extrusion, forming very fine pores, and laminating the film to fabric. CONSTITUTION:In a process wherein a blend obtained by dispersing uniformly a fine inorganic filler (preferable example, mica powder) into a synthetic resin elastomer such as polyurethane elastomer is extruded into a film by melt extrusion method, after the molten resin is extruded from a die slit, the film is successively drawn in the longitudinal and lateral directions in 1.5-3.0 times draw ratio, respectively, at about the softening temperature of the elastomer, to produce very fine pores. Then, the film is laminated to a substrate such as fabric, etc., piled and stuck, to give fireproof synthetic leather having air permeability. The leather is usable for sports wear, winter clothes, etc.
