In the stitch selection mechanism for a zig-zag sewing machine, a U-shaped summator rocker with a slotted link is fitted to the shaft, together with an additional control level. The cam disc with the hand setter rotates on the shaft for the setting control roller on a sleeve. The sleeve is prevented from rotating by a member which forms the second mounting point for the shaft for the rocker. The cam disc is fitted with limit stops.
