PURPOSE:To obtain a resin having high rate of adsorption of metallic ions, and useful for the purification of industrial water, the recovery of metals, etc., by polymerizing an ethylenic unsaturated compound having nitrile group and a crosslinking agent by suspension polymerization in the presence of a solvent in an aqueous medium, and converting the product to amidoxime. CONSTITUTION:An ethylenic unsaturated compound having nitrile group [e.g. (meth)acrylonitrile] and a crosslinking agent (e.g. divinylbenzene, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, etc.) are subjected to suspension-polymerization in an aqueous medium in the presence of a good solvent (e.g. dimethyl phthalate) and a poor solvent (e.g. toluene, n-heptane, etc.), and the obtained copolymer is converted to amidoxime to obtain the objective chelate resin. |
