PURPOSE:To obtain a rust and corrosion inhibitor for metals having superior performance by using salts of 3,4-dicarboxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-naphtha lenesuccinic acid or a partially esterified product of the acid as principal components. CONSTITUTION:This rust and corrosion inhibitor having significant rust and corrosion inhibiting effects on various metals such as steel, Al and Zn, especially on Cu is an aqueous soln. contg. 0.01-5wt% one or more kinds of salts of 3,4-dicarboxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-naphthalenesuccinic acid (TDA-W) or a partially esterified product of the acid as effective components. The salts are selected among alkali metallic salts such as K and Na salts, alkaline earth metallic salts such as Ca and Ba salts, and aliphatic, aromatic and heterocyclic amine salts. |
