PURPOSE:To diminish a drying process in the color code coating and to attain the improvement of the treatment efficiency by performing the top layer coating of a front stage before an under layer coating is dried, performing a masking after drying it and performing the top layer coating of a rear stage. CONSTITUTION:The under layer coating 2 of the intercoat or the prime coat is performed on the whole surfaces of coating part of an automobile body 1 and the top layer coating 3 of the front stage with the top coat paint of the front stage wherein a pigment for the color code is mixed with the nearly same resin as the paint of the under layer coating 2 is performed in a prescribed part on the coating 2 before the coating 2 is not dried and the automobile body 1 performed with the coating 3 is dried in a drying oven. Successively the coating 3 is masked so as to form the parting line of a color coded part and the top layer coating 4 of the rear stage with the top coat paint of the rear stage which is mixed with a pigment having color different from the top coat paint of the front stage is performed and after removing the above-mentioned masking, a clear coating 5 is performed on the whole surfaces of the coatings 3, 4 and the automobile body performed with the coating 5 is dried in the drying oven. As a result, the drying process in the color code coating is diminished and the treatment efficiency is increased.
