Process for reducing the free formaldehyde content of condensation resins based on formaldehyde, and resins obtained

The process consists in adding to the resin an alpha-methylated ketone in a large excess in relation to the stoichiometric quantity corresponding to the free formaldehyde. The reaction is performed in a basic medium and at a temperature above 40 DEG C. The resins obtained are practically devoid of free formaldehyde.
