The template (10) or gauge carries a number of deflection pins (12) arranged in concentric circles (11). The guide (13) leads the wire (15) wound off from the bobbin (14) around the deflection pins (12), and the overlap disc (17) covers the side of the template (10) with a spacing 'd' left between adjacent faces. The overlap disc (17) has the radial slot (22) through which the wire guiding element (13) extends, the latter being displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the slot (22).
